I would like to combine searches on the new EBSCOhost interface. How do I do that?

Answer

After running multiple searches in EBSCOhost, you can use the Combine searches feature in the Recent activity area of the dashboard to combine them into new searches.

To combine searches:

1. After running multiple searches during your session, click Recent Activity under My dashboard. You should see your Search History.

2. Check the boxes for the searches you wish to combine and click the Combine search icon that appears at the top of the list.

3. Select a "Combine with..." option (see below) and your combined search is added to the search box.

  • "Combine with AND" - searches for content that include all of the search terms
  • "Combine with OR" - searches for content that include one or more of the search terms
  • "Combine with NOT" - searches for content that includes the first term and excludes the other term(s)

4. The search bar will automatically update based on your selection. Click the magnifying glass at the end of the search bar to execute your combined search.

5. Your results are displayed and your combined search is added to your search history for the session.
