I’m new clinical faculty with Creighton. Could you let me know how to access journals and materials through the Libraries?
Answer
Absolutely, you have full access privileges to our collections, services, and resources. The Libraries’ authenticator will typically automatically sign you into our resources if you are ever already signed into other Creighton tools like your Creighton email. If not, a Creighton-branded screen will appear requesting you to sign in with your Creighton credentials (your NetID and its password).
The easiest way to access a specific journal title is through our “eJournals A-Z” search which is located on a tab on our library catalog widget in the middle of the Creighton University Libraries homepage (https://www.creighton.edu/academics/libraries). For access to a database like Pubmed or Scopus, that same widget includes a tab to our Databases A-Z list, which can also be found farther down the Libraries’ homepage under Quick Links. Database webpages should read “Access provided by Creighton University” or similar verbiage in the corner when using your Creighton access.
Should you encounter any technical issues with library resources, the fastest way to resolve is through our Report an Access Issue Form (https://culibraries.creighton.edu/c.php?g=1215719&p=8891838) which goes straight to our eResources and Systems team. This is a separate process from Creighton’s IT unit.
A few other Libraries resource and service highlights are:
- Research & instruction support (https://www.creighton.edu/academics/libraries/servicessupport/researchinstruction), including literature search requests
- InterLibrary Loan (https://www.creighton.edu/academics/libraries/servicessupport/requestmaterials)
- Refworks (https://culibraries.creighton.edu/newrefworks) subscription, which is a cloud-based citation management software licensed by the university
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to a librarian (https://culibraries.creighton.edu/prf.php) with questions about Creighton University Libraries resources and services or if you’d ever like a quick videocall, etc. to go over navigating Creighton resources.
