What are library guides?
Answer
Library guides (https://culibraries.creighton.edu/?b=g&d=a) go by many names that you may have heard before such as research guides, resource guides, or pathfinders. These are online resources curated by the University Libraries to support coursework, research, and engagement where we share class-, subject-, or topic-specific resources and information such as core books, recommended databases, and credible external online resources. They span a variety of fields and topics, and we are continuously updating them with helpful information. For example, we have guides for Anthropology 317, Pharmacy, Research Data Management, and celebrating Day of the Dead!
We also share our favorite research tips and instructions from navigating library and research resources to conducting searches in databases or creating citations. Each guide will include a profile for your library liaison to be able to call, email, or chat with any questions that may arise. But our library guides are available 24/7 so that no matter when you are working, you can find and access our highlighted resources and services.
Library guides for courses or subjects are usually linked in Blueline courses under the “Library/Research Resources” tab on the lefthand navigation menu. They are so linked within our Jaysearch widget and our Quick Links section on the University Libraries homepage (https://www.creighton.edu/academics/libraries). We always encourage you to bookmark your favorite guides for convenience!
