I am at another institution or a hospital, and I am unable to access Creighton Libraries' resources. What should I do?

Answer

Many Creighton faculty and students that frequent medical facilities or other institutions have encountered issues accessing Creighton Libraries' resources. Oftentimes those institutions have their own access to resources via their network/IP range and/or their OpenAthens. Even if a user logs into a resource using Creighton's log-in/OpenAthens, the host IP (the local institution or hospital) will override any Creighton authentication.

Here are some troubleshooting tips below to try if you are in any way connected to the local institution's network (including wifi):

1. Test your access to the resources off-site or using your mobile phone's data connection (without wifi)
2. Use a device as a cellular hotspot (do not connect to the network/wifi in any way)
3. Sometimes using incognito browsers to access resources will work as well
